So what I have decided to do is to write a blog about the absolute worst mistakes I see web design companies make when they design a website for their clients. These are mistakes that clients having the website built may not even know are bad but visitors to your site will notice them and may even cost you money. It can be very difficult to find Phoenix web design that is great because there are so many companies out there with different ideas. We hope that you will at least contact us for a free quote but if not make sure you check that the following things are done properly or you could be losing business and not even know it.
- Search ? Most all websites have some type of search field on their website which is a good thing but what is not good is when the search engines are to picky. Users don?t want to try to search a site just for the search field on your website to force them to guess the exact term or exact spelling. Believe it or not many people miss spell words while trying to perform a search. You don?t want to be a travel agency and somebody spell Hawaii wrong so the search field says there are no searches available and the potential customer leaves your website because they assume your website doesn?t offer what they are looking for. You would of not known that was the reason they left however you just lost a potential sale.
- Color of Links ? You may have links on your pages that lead to great information and possibly will sell many clients however nobody can find the links because you fail to change the color of the links. It is impossible for me to know there is a link unless there is something that indicates it which usually is changing the color of the words that are linked.
- Don?t Write a Book ? People visiting websites are not looking to read a book they are looking to scan information on a page, find what they are looking for and leave. Create your Phoenix web design for the internet not for publishing a book.
- Advertisement Appearance ? Internet users in today?s world have trained themselves to ignore advertisements so why would you create things on your website to have the appearance of an advertisement? Yes this does include coupon style images. I realize that the coupon is a unique way to show a discount but it also mimics advertising and many of your visitors won?t read it because it will appear to be an advertisement to them.
- Opening New Window ? Have you ever been to a website where you have 3 new browser windows opens up. If you haven?t I will tell you it is super annoying nobody wants this. Respect your website?s visitors and don?t have this on your website.
- Not Answering ? Your website users will have questions and customer service 101 tells you to answer them. There is nothing that makes your website look worse than when you don?t answer your customers questions.
